History of the Horse

Horses have been around for about 50 million years! But, they looked very different back then. The modern horse is evolved from the Equus. The Equus was only about 10 to 20 inches tall and had three toes. The horses of today have evolved into many breeds.

 


Horses Today

Horses have evolved very much from the 10 inch animal that was 50 million years ago. Horses nowadays do many jobs. To list a few: there are carriage horses, police horses, therapy horses, work horses, and school horses.
